Joseph Bruce, better known by his stage name Violent J, is an American rapper, musician, and co-founder of the influential hip-hop duo Insane Clown Posse (ICP). Born on April 28, 1972, in Berkley, Michigan, he is a prominent figure in the horrorcore subgenre, characterized by its dark and violent themes, often incorporating elements of shock rock and performance art. Insane Clown Posse, formed in 1989, gained significant attention with their debut album, "Carnival of Carnage" (1992), and subsequent releases like "Ringmaster" (1994) and "The Great Milenko" (1997).
